Wendy Galdamez Palma Killed, Son Injured in Playa Del Rey Hit-and-Run
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 12, 2021) – Wendy Galdamez Palma was killed after a hit-and-run crash in Playa del Rey.
The coroner’s office identified the 33-year-old Downey woman as one of the victims in the collision which occurred on Saturday night.
The incident happened when Wendy Galdamez Palma was crossing Vista Del Mar with her 3-year-old child in Playa del Rey. For an unknown reason, a vehicle struck the pedestrians.
Police said the mother tried to protect her son and shielded him as the driver approached them in the 8800 block of the road.

Wendy Galdamez Palma died at the scene of the Playa del Rey crash. The Daily Breeze and FOX LA News wrote that the boy sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.
Paramedics soon rushed the juvenile to an area hospital and later released him. The accident took place on September 11 at about 10:33 p.m.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help the victims and then fled the area. Officers described the car involved as a Toyota 4Runner with heavy front-end damage.
The fatal Playa del Rey hit-and-run collision is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the LAPD’s West Traffic Division at 213-473-0022.
