West Covina CHP Crash on 10 Freeway and Barranca Street

2 Injured in West Covina Crash on 10 Freeway and Barranca Street

WEST COVINA, CA (December 13, 2022) – A crash injured two people on the 10 Freeway and Barranca Street in West Covina.

According to the CBS Los Angeles and KTLA News, the accident took place on Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 1:54 p.m. 

The incident happened when three vehicles, including a California Highway Patrol (CHP) Officer, collided for an unknown reason in West Covina.

An SUV struck the back of the patrol car, which then hit the vehicle in front of it.

Multiple Vehicles Collide

They crashed on the eastbound 10 Freeway at the Barranca Street exit. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the CHP officer unconscious.

Two people, the officer and the driver of the SUV, ended up hurt as a result of the collision. Medical; personnel rushed them to a hospital in stable condition.

The reports did not disclose the names of the wounded parties. Meanwhile, CHP forced a stretch of the 10 freeway to shut down near Barranca following the wreck.

The cause of the West Covina crash is still under investigation.
