Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash at Whittier Boulevard and Hadley Street
WHITTIER, CA (January 1, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian at Whittier Boulevard and Hadley Street in Whittier.
According to an article published by the Whittier Daily News, the tragic accident took place on Friday. Officers reported the collision on New Year’s Eve at about 7:43 p.m.
The incident happened on December 31 when a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in the city. Police said the driver hit him at the intersection of Whittier Boulevard and Hadley Street.
Driver Hits Pedestrian, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the elderly man left lying on the ground. He sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid and then fled the area. Officers forced the corner of Whittier Boulevard and Hadley Street following the hit-and-run crash.
