Wilder Bastante, 63, Killed in Ontario Big Rig Crash on 60 Freeway
ONTARIO, CA (September 23, 2021) – Wilder Bastante was killed after a big rig crash on the 60 Freeway in Ontario.
The coroner’s office identified the 63-year-old Hesperia man as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place early Thursday.
The incident when Wilder Salas Bastante was riding one of the two big rigs which collided for an unknown reason in Ontario. One semi-truck hit the rear of the other tractor-trailer.
Two Semi-Trucks Collide
The California Highway Patrol said the two trucks crashed on the eastbound side of the 60 Freeway, near Grove Avenue. The ABC 7 News wrote that the accident occurred at about 12:30 a.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found Wilder Bastante severely injured as a result of the crash. They pronounced him dead at the scene.
CHP did not mention if any other party ended up hurt following the collision. Meanwhile, officers forced the eastbound lanes of the 60 Freeway to shut down for several hours after the wreck.
The cause of the Ontario crash is still under investigation.
