William Barnard Suspect in Major Traffic Collision Near Maddalena Road
Plumas, CA (July 28, 2021) – Police arrested William Barnard, a 22-year-old man, in relation with an injury car accident that occurred on State Route 70 on July 25, Sunday.
According to Plumas News,William Barnard, of Reno, Nevada, was behind the wheel of a 2007 Toyota 4-Runner heading east on the highway in Plumas. Due to the alleged intoxication of Barnard, he apparently allowed the car to veer into the opposite traffic lanes.
Primary reports indicated the Toyota collided with a westbound 2021 Audi. The force from the impact caused the Toyota to roll over multiple times. First responders found the Toyota flipped on its wheels in the north shoulder of Highway 70 near Maddalena Road.
Shortly after 12:38 a.m., medical personnel arrived at the crash site. Paramedics rendered aid to all possible victims in the collision.
The article published online indicated William Barnard was taken to Renown Medical Center for treatment of major injuries. Officials said they placed the man under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, after release from the hospital.

Meanwhile, the driver and four occupants of the Audi all received treatment at the hospital for moderate injuries.
Further investigation on the case is underway.
