William Romero, 25, of Bakersfield, Killed on Taft Highway
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Sept. 1, 2021) — William Romero died in a Taft Highway pedestrian accident Tuesday night in Bakersfield.
William Romero, 25, of Bakersfield, died in the 8:48 p.m. collision on August 31 in the 5400 block of Taft Highway, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
A driver struck the Bakersfield man and he went down near the side of the roadway, police said.
Also, paramedics with the Bakersfield Fire Department responded and located the man suffering from major injuries, according to Bakersfield Now.

Sadly, William Alejandro Romero succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Additionally, the woman driving the vehicle stopped following the Taft Highway pedestrian accident and cooperated with authorities.
Investigators with the Bakersfield Police Department say drugs and or alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
Meanwhile, the Kern County Coroner’s Office released the victim’s name after notifying family members.
