Driver Steps Out of Car, Fatally Struck by Vehicle Near Hansen Overpass Tuesday
Tracy, CA (February 9, 2022) – Willie Lewis Sr., a 62-year-old man, died following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 205 Freeway.
On February 8, Tuesday, Lewis Sr. got involved in a car crash in the area near the Hansen Road overpass. The Tracy Press News reported a Saturn sedan collided with a GMC SUV on the freeway. The incident left both cars disabled partially on the right shoulder and in the far-right slow lane of I-205.

Officials believed Lewis stepped out of his GMC SUV and talked to the occupants of the Saturn. While standing in the lane, an oncoming white Audi struck the 62-year-old man. The article published online confirmed the collision resulted in fatal injuries to Willie Lewis Sr. Responding paramedics sadly pronounced the man dead at the scene shortly after 8:48 p.m.
The conditions of other parties involved in the incident remained unknown.
Investigators continue to work to determine several unclear factors surrounding the unfortunate event on Interstate 205 in Tracy.
