2 Injured in Winchester Crash at Highway 79 and Washington Street
WINCHESTER, CA (May 7, 2021) – Two were hospitalized after a car crash at Highway 79 and Washington Street in Winchester.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 2:07 p.m.
CHP said a Chrysler PT Cruiser and another vehicle collided for an unknown reason in Modesto. The two crashed at the intersection of Highway 79, known as Winchester Road, and Washington Street.
Car Collision on Winchester Road
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and rescued two trapped occupants from the wreckage. They confirmed that two people ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
One patient sustained major injuries while the other suffered moderate injuries due to the impact. Medical personnel then took them to the Inland Valley Medical Center for further aid.
Cal Fire indicated that a third individual refused treatment. Officials did not release the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, officers forced the intersection of Highway 79 and Washington Street to shut down following the wreck. Authorities are still determining the cause of the Winchester crash.
