Pedestrian Possibly Killed in Woodland Hills Hit-and-Run at Ventura and Ponce
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 6, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash possibly killed a pedestrian at Ventura Boulevard and Ponce Avenue in Woodland Hills.
The California Highway Patrol said the tragic accident took place on Sunday evening. According to their dispatch, officers reported the collision shortly before 7 p.m.
The incident happened when for an unknown reason, a vehicle struck the pedestrian. The driver hit the person at the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Ponce Avenue in the Woodland Hills neighborhood.
Driver Hits Victim, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics then arrived at the scene near the 101 Freeway. They found the victim left lying on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel believed that the patient soon died. The report did not disclose the name of the deceased party.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the area. Officers forced the corner of Ventura and Ponce to shut down for a time following the collision.
The cause of the fatal Woodland Hills hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
