Teenage Boys Killed in Crash on Michillinda Avenue in Pasadena
PASADENA, Calif. (Jan. 17, 2022) – Three teenage boys died in a Pasadena crash a Michillinda Avenue, just south of Foothill Boulevard.
Investigators are looking into a solo-vehicle crash in Pasadena about 8:25 p.m. Sunday on Michillinda Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The initial CHP report indicated the vehicle had fallen from the Foothill (210) Freeway, but it was later confirmed the crash occurred at the intersection blow when the driver lost control.
A 17-year-old Temple City boy was driving a 2005 Honda with two male passengers ages 16 and 17, heading south on Michillinda Avenue.
Police do not know why the driver lost control of his vehicle before colliding with the raised concrete curb edge.
The vehicle continued to travel westbound until it hit the chain-link fence, the CHP reported. Finally, the vehicle collided with a descending dirt embankment and overturned.
Police responded with paramedics and noted the driver and the 16-year-old Temple City boy died at the scene.
Paramedics transported a 17-year-old Monterey Park boy to the hospital where he died.
