4-Vehicle Head-on Crash on Highway 79 in Beaumont
BEAUMONT, Calif. (March 12, 2024) — A major injury crash happened Tuesday on northbound Highway 79 also known as Beaumont Avenue, just south of Lamb Canyon Road.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred at around 10 a.m. on March 12th, near the Lamb Canyon Landfill, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP dispatch report stated it “appears to be a head-on traffic collision” and also that it “will be a road rage incident for now.”
A driver traveling southbound in a gray Toyota Camry allegedly crossed over into northbound lanes and collided with a red Ford F-150 pickup truck, a white Ford F-150 pickup truck, and a black Toyota Corolla, The Patch reports.
At least one of the vehicles had its airbags deployed, CHP officials said.
The California Dept. of Fire responded with paramedics to help one man with major injuries who was taken by ambulance to a hospital. A second person had complaints of pain, but was not taken to a hospital.
Tow trucks removed at least three of the damaged vehicles from the roadway.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the Beaumont crash on Highway 79.
