Major Injury Collision on I-580 Freeway in Pleasanton
PLEASANTON, Calif. (April 10, 2024) — A five-vehicle crash in Pleasanton on the Interstate 580 Freeway happened Wednesday morning, just east of Dougherty Road off ramp.
The major injury collision occurred on the westbound I-580 at around 5:48 a.m. on April 10th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials issued a SigAlert after the drivers of a black Ford F-150 pickup truck, a blue Ford Transit van, a white Tesla Y, a green Lexus and a GMC pickup truck collided due to unknown circumstances.
Paramedics responded to help at least one person with a major injury and others with various complaints of pain or injuries.
Tow trucks removed several vehicles including the Tesla Y due to major rear-end damage, the Lexus with all-over damage and the pickup truck with a broken front axle.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on the 580 Freeway in Pleasanton.
