Driver Katelyn Journigan killed in a head-on crash in Ventura
VENTURA, Calif. (April 27, 2021) — A fatal Ventura crash happened on Harbor Boulevard leaving one person critically injured and a young Ventura woman dead.
Katelyn Journigan, 26, of Ventura, died in the two-vehicle collision about 10:15 p.m. on Friday, April 23rd, just west of Sanjon Road, according to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office.
She was driving a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound on Harbor Boulevard. She reportedly veered into oncoming traffic and was going eastbound in the westbound lane.

Meanwhile, the Jeep collided head-on with a 2020 Kia Optima, leaving its female driver with major head trauma and serious injuries, according to the Ventura County Star.
Also, the woman was transported to the intensive care unit at Ventura County Medical Center. Also, a passenger in the Kia suffered less serious injuries in the collision. Both occupants of the Kia were wearing seat belts. Sadly, Katelyn Journigan did not survive the crash and died on scene. Police say she did not have her seat belt on.
