Motorcyclist Killed in Hit-and-run Pacoima Crash
PACOIMA, Calif. (Oct. 25, 2021) – Jose Silva, 53, died in a hit-and-run motorcycle accident on Oct. 16th on Laurel Canyon Boulevard in Pacoima.
The deadly, hit-and-run crash happened around 8:35 p.m. on Oct. 16 at Judd Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department and the Daily News.
The victim was riding a 2012 Kawasaki was northbound on Laurel Canyon Boulevard. The roadway apparently merges into a two-way left turn lane and that’s where the bike collided head-on with a 2015 Corolla. Upon impact, Jose Silva was ejected from his motorcycle and landed in the roadway after the accident, police said. That’s where he was subsequently struck by a driver in a southbound white four-door sedan, police said. Officials report that driver fled the scene without stopping to help the victim.
Meanwhile, the first driver that collided with the motorcycle stopped and cooperated with police.
Motorcyclist Jose Silva Dies at Hospital
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured motorcyclist to a hospital. Sadly, Jose Silva suffered fatal injuries and died at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the city offers a standing reward of up to $50,000. The money is available to anyone who can provide information that leads to the arrest or identification of the hit-and-run driver and their conviction.
