2 Killed in Small Plane Crash Near Garlock Road
KERN COUNTY, Calif. (Nov. 15, 2021) — Hal Derwin Wood, 68, of Murrieta, is identified as one of two killed in a Ridgecrest plane crash in the desert north of Garlock Road.
The plane crashed happened Friday afternoon in the desert just west of Ridgecrest and northeast of California City, according to Bakersfield Now. The Kern County Fire Department responded to help the plane occupants. Sadly both of them died at the crash scene.
Deadly Plane Crash
The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified Hal Derwin Wood, but has not identified the second person who died. The person’s identity will be released after family members are notified.
Both people died in the airplane crash last Friday just before 2:15 p.m. on Nov. 12th, just west of Highway 395.
The cause of the plane crash remains under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration.
