Motorcyclist Hurt in Newport Beach Crash on SR-73 Toll Road
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (Jan. 21, 2022) — A Newport Beach motorcycle accident happened on the southbound State Route 73 Toll Road near Campus Drive.
The collision happened about 1:46 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21st, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials report the motorcyclist went down in traffic lanes blocking the Campus Drive off ramp. A witness told CHP dispatch operators that a driver in a pickup truck allegedly cut off the bike and caused the collision. It’s unknown at this time if the pickup truck driver stopped or if the two vehicles collided.
Paramedics responded to help the injured motorcycle rider, but it’s unknown if anyone was hospitalized. Police did not release the name, age or gender of the rider.
Meanwhile, investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the motorcycle accident on SR-73 in Newport Beach.
