Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-run Crash is Identified
BOYLE HEIGHTS, Calif. (April 5, 2022) — Francisco Rosas Garcia, 58, died in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash at Whittier Boulevard and Esperanza Street in Boyle Heights.
The crash happened about 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 2nd, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner.
A driver reportedly struck and killed the man at the intersection in Boyle Heights and fled the scene.
The Los Angeles Police Department reported a westbound driver in a Ford Fusion hit the man as he walked northbound in a crosswalk on Esperanza Street.
The motorist left the scene following the collision. Meanwhile, the pedestrian suffered major, blunt force injuries and died at the scene.
Witnesses are urged to call the LAPD’s Central Traffic Division at 213-833-3746.
