Motorhome, Pickup in Fatal Crash on I-15 Freeway in Barstow
BARSTOW, Calif. (June 8, 2022) – Joyce Ann Ellis, 76, of Indio, died following a Barstow crash involving a motorhome and pickup happened Tuesday night on the northbound 15 Freeway near Main Street.
The collision occurred about 11:02 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Six people became trapped in the RV after it collided with a pickup truck. The truck wound up underneath the motorhome and at least one of the vehicles went up a dirt embankment, police said. The Barstow Fire Department responded and extricated the people trapped in the motorhome.
Paramedics responded and rushed Joyce Ann Ellis to Barstow Community Hospital where she died at 12:01 a.m. on June 8th.
Investigators with the CHP’s Barstow station are working on the case and will determine fault for the Barstow crash on the Interstate 15 Freeway.
