2-Vehicle Crash Involving Alleged Hit-and-run Motorist
CONCORD, Calif. (Aug. 1, 2022) — A two-vehicle Concord car accident happened early Monday morning on the eastbound Highway 4 (state Route 4) at the northbound State Route 242 in Contra Costa County.
The crash occurred about 4 a.m. on August 1st, , just west of Port Chicago Highway, according to a dispatch report by the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials say the drivers of a black Nissan Maxima and a Honda Civic collided due to unknown circumstances. The driver in the Honda allegedly drove off without stopping following the collision. Also, the driver in the Nissan called 911 for help and told dispatchers that a tow truck had stopped to ask if he called them. The victim believes the suspect called for this tow truck and was somewhere nearby.

Authorities located the suspect’s Honda Civic with major front-end damage from the crash.
Paramedics responded to the scene to treat and transport at least one person with major injuries following the Concord car accident.
Finally, investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the Contra Costa County accident.
