4-Vehicle Crash on I-80 Freeway in San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (August 31, 2022) — A multi-vehicle crash on the Interstate 80 Freeway in San Francisco happened Wednesday morning near the San Francisco to Oakland Bay Bridge.
The 4-vehicle crash occurred in the eastbound lanes about 5:44 a.m. on August 29th, just east of the 1st Street on ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a Honda Civic, a Toyota Camry and two other vehicles were involved. Two of the vehicles blocked the left lane at the entrance to the bridge, police said.
Paramedics responded to help those with minor injuries and they transported at least one person to a hospital.
Meanwhile, tow trucks removed three of the four vehicles from the roadway.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the San Francisco crash.
