Police Chase Through OC and LA Counties Ends in Crash
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (Sept. 8, 2022) — A Newport Beach car accident at Balboa Boulevard and 26th Street happened Thursday morning at the end of a police chase.
The Sept. 8th collision put an end to a police pursuit that began in Los Angeles and wound its way through Orange County, according to CBS 4 News.
The suspect was initially traveling on the Riverside 91 Freeway in the south part of Los Angeles County. The motorist transitioned onto the I-5 Freeway southbound into Orange County. Police followed the driver onto the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway and onto Balboa Boulevard until the vehicle crashed with another motorist at 26th Street.
There are no further details at this time, but the crash remains under investigation.
