Deadly Crash on Halloween Night on Interstate 210 Freeway
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (Nov. 1, 2022) — A fatal two-vehicle crash happened late Halloween night on the eastbound Interstate 210 Freeway at the Ayala Drive off ramp in San Bernardino.
One person is dead, two injured after the collision at 11:23 p.m. on Oct. 31st, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The drivers of a gray Mercedes and a black Jeep collided, causing the Mercedes to overturned, the report said. Also, someone was thrown from a vehicle into the slow lane, police said.
Multiple vehicles blocked traffic lanes as well as the male ejected from the Mercedes.
More than a dozen other motorists stopped to help those involved. Police issued a SigAlert due to the collision blocking the middle lanes.
Paramedics responded and transported one person with a minor injury to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. A second person identified as Gilbert Archuletta, 19, suffered major injuries in the crash. He was transported to the same hospital for further treatment.
The identity of the person who died is unknown at this time.
Investigators continue to work on the case to determine fault.
