Motorcyclist Fatal Hit-and-Run in San Clemente
SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (April 15, 2021) – Adam Horner, 38, of San Clemente, is in jail after being arrested on suspicion of killing a pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash while riding a motorcycle near El Camino Rea and Boca De La Playa.
Susan Fernandez, 61, of San Clemente, died in Wednesday’s crash about 9:50 p.m., according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Police booked the motorcyclist on suspicion of hit-and-run. Also, Adam Horner was located in the area roughly 30 minutes after the collision. The arrest came after witnesses gave police a description of the motorcycle.
Fatal Hit-and-run Crash Investigation
Meanwhile, Adam Horner is held in jail in lieu of $50,000 bail and faces felony hit-and-run charges.
Additionally, police report that Fernandez died at the scene. It’s unknown what led up to the collision at this time, nor whether the pedestrian or motorcyclist had the right-of-way. There appear to be witnesses who saw the crash and that may ultimately help police determine fault.
Finally, investigators continue to piece together what happened.
