Bicycle Rider Killed in Crash with Car in Fresno County
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (October 3, 2022) – Adela Santana Mullooly, 51, Fresno, died in a head-on crash while riding a bicycle on Watts Valley Road in Fresno County.
The traffic accident occurred Sunday, Oct. 2nd about 10:20 a.m., according to the Fresno County Sheriff Coroner.
The Fresno woman was riding a bicycle westbound on Watts Valley Road in Fresno County, while a driver in an Acura NSX was traveling eastbound.
Johnson Chang, 47, of Fresno, was attempting to negotiate a curve in the roadway and apparently veered into the westbound lane in front of the bicyclist, the Fresno coroner said.
The California Highway Patrol reports the bicyclist and vehicle crashed in front of 19580 Watts Valley Road. Paramedics responded and located the injured woman in the roadway.
Sadly, she died at the scene of the crash.
The Fresno man stopped his vehicle and cooperated with authorities and the investigation.
