Pedestrian Killed in East Los Angeles; Suspect Arrested
EAST LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Sept. 6, 2022) – Alberto Northrup, 60, died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Whittier Boulevard in East Los Angeles.
The victim was a homeless man, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner.
Someone called 911 to report there was a man lying in the street about 11:18 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1st, the CHP report said.
California Highway Patrol officers responded and located the victim in the street in front of 6506 Whittier Boulevard.
Sadly, Alberto Northrup was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, a witness followed the suspect as the person fled northbound on Garfield Avenue. They told CHP investigators the vehicle involved as a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu.
Police eventually found the Malibu and subsequently arrested its alleged driver identified as Lilibeth Cindy Gonzalez, 35.
Furthermore, investigators continue to work on the case.
