2 Killed in Highland Crash Identified
HIGHLAND, Calif. (Jan. 24, 2022) — Andrea Lynn Hilscher, 38, of Arrowbear, and Jessica Baltierra, 26, of San Bernardino, both died in a collision on Highway 330 near Highland Avenue.
The two-vehicle crash occurred in the northbound lanes about 1:16 p.m. on Jan. 24th between a small black hatchback and a white sedan, according to the California Highway Patrol. One of the vehicles also crashed into an embankment.
An off-duty Orange County Fire Authority deputy was at the scene helping those involved. There were multiple patients requiring ambulances and one person was trapped in a vehicle.
One of the two drivers, Andrea Lynn Hilscher, suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the second driver, Jessica Baltierra, by ambulance to Loma Linda Medical Center with major injuries. She later died that night at 8:31 p.m., according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.
Police issued a SigAlert due to the fatal crash. Two tow trucks responded to remove the damaged vehicles for evidence.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the fatal crash. Our thoughts and prayers extend to the families of the two women who died.
