Man, 37, Killed in Crash Near Lake Balboa
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Feb. 22, 2024) – Anthony David Dearo, 37, of Camarillo, died, and a woman was critically injured on Tuesday in a crash on Saticoy Street in the Lake Balboa area.
The Ventura County man was driving a pickup truck that collided with a car at about 9:45 a.m. on Feb. 20th in the 17300 block of Saticoy Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Authorities are investigating whether or not speed was a factor in the crash, according to a report by ABC 7 News. The woman driving a blue Lexus RC was seen on surveillance video prior to the collision with Anthony Dearo’s 2021 white Toyota Tacoma. The pickup truck, which is owned by Insecta Pest Solutions, also crashed into a tree and a Panda Express building, the report said.
Anthony Dearo sustained major injuries and died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
Meanwhile, the woman driving the Lexus was taken to a hospital in critical condition and her Pomeranian dog appeared to be unharmed.
Furthermore, investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on Saticoy Street in Lake Balboa.
