Motorcyclists Injured in Crash on Highway 18
LUCERNE VALLEY, Calif. (March 24, 2022) — An Apple Valley motorcycle crash happened Wednesday afternoon on Highway 18 near Milpas Drive.
The 3-vehicle crash occurred about 3:44 pm, on March 23, 2022, along State Route-18 and Milpas Drive.
Police reported a Toyota Camry was stopped and waiting to turn left onto Milpas. Meanwhile, the motorcycles were heading eastbound and were unable to stop in time. At least one of the bikes crashed into the back the car. The other bike also went down and crashed at the same time.
Apple Valley Motorcycle Crash
The two motorcyclists suffered serious injuries. Paramedics with Apple Valley Fire Protection District responded and airlifted the two motorcycle riders to the trauma center at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The helicopters both landed in the nearby dry lake bed.
Additionally, none of the three occupants from the white Toyota Camry reported injuries after the Apple Valley motorcycle crash.
Authorities closed down Highway 18 in both directions for roughly an hour.
Liability for the motorcycle accident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
