Pedestrian Killed in Crash at Sunset Boulevard and Campus Drive
ARVIN, CA (June 2, 2021) –Azucena Ramirez, 42, died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident Wednesday, June 2nd at Sunset Boulevard and Campus Drive in Arvin.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office a driver struck and killed Ramirez at the Arvin intersection.
The crash happened shortly after 10 p.m. as the victim walked eastbound along Sunset Boulevard.
Firefighters responded and located Azucena Ramirez lying on the ground after the collision where they pronounced the patient dead at the scene.
Police noted that the motorist failed to stop after hitting the victim. The vehicle is described as a 4-door black vehicle with heavy damage to its windshield and front-end.
Meanwhile, a witness told the CHP they saw a vehicle swerve prior to seeing the victim down in the roadway.
Authorities closed down Sunset Boulevard and Campus Drive after the collision to investigate.
