Two Injured in Crash in Bakersfield on the I-5 Freeway
KERN COUNTY, Calif. (June 10, 2022) — Two people were injured Friday morning in a Bakersfield crash on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway, just north of Station Road in Kern County.
The two-vehicle collision occurred about 7:30 a.m. on June 10th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a Toyota Camry sedan and another motorist collided. One of the motorists reportedly lost control and crossed from the southbound I-5 Freeway to the northbound side of the freeway where it collided with the other motorist.
One of the vehicles overturned onto its roof during the crash and the other wound up facing the wrong way on the I-5 Freeway, police said. The Toyota suffered major front-end damage and required a tow truck. Two people suffered moderate injuries in the crash.
Paramedics transported Tuomo Song and 45-year-old Maria Luisa Valdez to Kern Medical Center, according to the CHP report.
Meanwhile, investigators continue to work on the cause of the crash.
