Woman Killed in Crash Last Month is Identified
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (March 3, 2022) – Barbara Hill Leach, 79, of Sacramento, died Feb. 23rd in a car accident at the intersection of Howe Avenue and Spanos Court.
Two vehicles collided at the intersection in North Sacramento at 2:08 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23rd, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff Coroner.
Police reported the cars involved in the wreck were a gray Dodge and a red sedan.
During the collision, the red sedan drifted off the roadway. Officials said the car came to a rest after slamming into a tree.
Paramedics responded with police to the intersection and located one person with serious injuries due to the crash. They performed life-saving measures to Barbara Leach, but she succumbed to her injuries and died.
There is very little information about the deadly crash. The case is under investigation as a hit-and-run crash, according to the coroner report.
Investigators continue to work to determine the precise circumstances that led up to the deadly accident at Howe Avenue and Spanos Court.
