Woman Hit by Vehicle Dies in Hospital

BERKELEY, Calif. (March 1, 2024) — Julia Elkin, 37, of North Berkeley, died on Sunday roughly two weeks after being injured in a pedestrian accident on Marin Avenue in Berkeley.

The pedestrian collision occurred at around 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 12th, according to Berkeley Scanner.

The woman was struck by a small orange BMW that was traveling westbound at the intersection with Oxford Street.

Authorities say Julia Elkin was jogging on the west side of the intersection at the time of the collision. Paramedics transported her to a hospital where she was treated for a brain injury, but was later taken off life support on Sunday, Feb. 25th.

Investigators are working to determine fault for the pedestrian accident on Marin Avenue in Berkeley.
