2 Seriously Injured in Big Bear Crash
BIG BEAR, Calif. (June 22, 2021) — A small plane crash today in Big Bear leaving two people seriously injured.
The single-engine Piper PA-28 crashed about 1:25 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22nd, according to KTLA 5 News.
The plane crashed down as the pilot attempted to land at Big Bear City Airport.
when a plane they were on crashed in Big Bear and caught fire, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
Bystanders pulled two seriously injured people from the burning wreckage. Next, both people were airlifted to trauma centers for further treatment.
The plane’s parts scattered across the ground on and around Meadow Lane.
Meanwhile, workers had to repair damaged power lines in the area of the collision.
An investigation is underway by the FAA and and the National Transportation Safety Board to determine cause.
