Woman, 29, Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on I-10 Freeway
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. (March 19, 2024) — Christina Rodriguez, 29, of Banning, died March 13th in a pedestrian accident while walking on the Interstate 10 Freeway, east of 8th Street in Banning.
The Banning woman was reportedly walking in the middle lanes of the eastbound I-10 Freeway, according to the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
A driver struck her and failed to stop and seek help, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Deputies from the California Highway Patrol’s San Gorgonio Pass station were alerted to the collision just after 12:30 a.m. and responded to the scene. The victim was located in the No. 4 lane and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, there are toxicology tests being conducted by the Riverside County Coroner’s office to determine if drugs and or alcohol were contributing factors to her death.
