Woman, 26, Arrested on DUI Charges; 4 Injured
CHULA VISTA, Calif. (May 9, 2024) — A child and three women were injured in a crash involving a suspected DUI driver Tuesday night at East Palomar Street and Brandywine Avenue in Chula Vista.
The two-vehicle collision occurred just before 11:45 p.m. on May 7th, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.
A 3-year-old girl was riding in a car driven by a 26-year-old woman suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and or drugs.
The young woman, identified as Ayneisha Christiana Frazier, reportedly collided with another motorist at the Chula Vista intersection due to unknown circumstances, the Times of San Diego reported.
Paramedics and police responded and located the child unresponsive and transported her to a hospital where she remains in critical condition.
Also, the three women from the other vehicle ages 42, 60 and 69 had complaints of pain and were also taken to a hospital for further treatment, the report said.
Meanwhile, Ayneisha Christiana Frazier was arrested on suspicion of DUI causing bodily injury and child endangerment, the report said. She was booked in Las Colinas women’s jail in Santee and held in lieu of $500,000 bail, the report said.
Finally, detectives are working to determine the cause of the crash and liability.
