Motorcycle Rider Killed in Crash on Big Bear Boulevard
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (March 22, 2022) — Deryk Shaffer, 30, of Big Bear City, died following a motorcycle crash Sunday in Big Bear Lake at Knickerbocker Road and Big Bear Boulevard.
The crash happened about 6:30 p.m. on March 20th, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
The motorcycle rider was traveling eastbound on Big Bear Boulevard. He reportedly lost control when a driver in a westbound Toyota sedan turned left in front of him onto Knickerbocker Road. Shaffer suffered major injuries in the crash as he fell onto the roadway.
Deryk Shaffer later died of his injuries at Bear Valley Community Hospital.
