Dylan Lupia Fatal Metro Bus Pedestrian Accident Palos Verde Boulevard

Dylan Lupia Fatal Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident Palos Verde Boulevard Grandson of the Late Actor Michael Landon Killed in Bus Crash

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. (Oct. 7, 2022) —  Dylan Lupia, 24, was struck and killed by a Los Angeles County Metro bus as he walked in a bicycle lane on South Palos Verde Boulevard.

The fatal pedestrian accident occurred on August 17th, near the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, according to a report by ABC 7 News.

But now his mother, Shawna Landon, is hoping a passenger who was aboard the bus at the time of the collision will come forward as a witness.

The victim is the grandson of the late actor Michael Landon, best known for his role on the TV show “Little House on the Prairie.”

Metro Bus Fails to Stop after Pedestrian Collision

Authorities say the bus driver failed to immediately stop after allegedly hitting the young man. Roughly a mile and a half down the road, the bus driver eventually stopped and reported to his superiors that his bus was vandalized.

Investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are considering a criminal case against the driver. However, they are awaiting toxicology reports from the coroner’s office.

Meanwhile, Metro stated they are working with law enforcement and conducting its own investigation into the tragedy.

Apparently the Metro bus was equipped with nine cameras and a black box. The victim’s attorney is seeking to get access to that information as evidence.

Finally, the case remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the case should contact investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept.
