
KOREATOWN, Calif. (Feb. 1, 2023) – Edinson Orjuela Castillo, 44, died early Tuesday morning in a three-vehicle crash at Olympic Boulevard and Hoover Street in Koreatown.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office identified the victim on its website.
The traffic accident occurred about 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31st at the Koreatown intersection, according to MyNewsLA.
The Los Angeles Police Department responded to the scene where they determined a driver traveling southbound on Hoover Street allegedly crashed into a car driven by Edinson Castillo traveling on Olympic Boulevard. Upon impact, the second car crashed into a third car, the LAPD reported.
Edinson Castillo suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Meanwhile, the driver and a passenger from the first vehicle suffered undisclosed injuries. They were taken by ambulance to a hospital and listed in stable condition, the report said.
Finally, paramedics treated the driver from the third vehicle at the scene.
Investigators continue to work on the case to determine fault.
