Man Hit and Killed by Bus Near Virginia Avenue
San Diego, Calif. (Oct. 16, 2021) – Eliseo Salgado Mamahua, 87, died following a pedestrian accident on San Ysidro Boulevard Friday evening.
The deadly crash happened about 6:45 p.m. on Oct. 15th, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
The ABC10 News reported the pedestrian was crossing in the 500 block of San Ysidro Boulevard. Officials said the elderly man stumbled into the northbound number one lane of the highway.
The pedestrian reportedly fell in front of an approaching charter bus. The driver of the bus was unable to avoid hitting Eliseo Salgado Mamahua.

Paramedics arrived at the crash scene and performed life-saving measures to the victim, but he sadly succumbed to his injuries.
The San Diego Police Department is the agency handling the investigation, Detectives continue to work to determine the precise cause of the deadly pedestrian accident on San Ysidro Boulevard.
