Bicycle Rider Struck, Killed Hit-and-run Crash in Downtown
OAKLAND, Calif. (June 17, 2022) — A driver struck and killed a 42-year-old Oakland man riding a bicycle Thursday night at 14th Street and Jefferson Street near City Hall in downtown Oakland.
The deadly collision occurred about 8:21 p.m. Thursday, June 17th, according to East Bay Times.
Fatal Oakland Hit-and-run Bicycle Accident
Authorities reported the bicyclist was riding westbound on 14th Street prior to the crash. A driver who was also heading westbound on 14th street struck the Oakland man and continued driving without stopping to help the victim.
Meanwhile, paramedics responded and rushed the injured bicyclist to a hospital where he later died.
There is no detailed description of the vehicle or its driver at this time.
However, Oakland police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland offer up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the driver.
