2 Pickup Trucks Collide on Interstate 5 in Buttonwillow
BUTTONWILLOW, Calif. (Sept. 7, 2021) — A fatal Buttonwillow rollover crash happened Tuesday morning on the Interstate 5 Freeway.
The collision happened about 7:20 a.m. on September 7th, just north of 7th Standard Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck collided with a white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and then overturned and struck a fence on the right shoulder. One person was thrown from the overturned pickup truck as it went 100 feet off the roadway, police said. The person’s body was located roughly 20 feet from the pickup truck.
The victim’s age and gender are unknown at this time. Also, the person’s identity will be release after family members are notified.
Investigators seek to determine the cause of the crash and liability.
