One Killed, Two Injured in Collision
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (April 12, 2024) – One person is dead and two others hurt in a two-vehicle car accident Thursday night on South Figueroa Street, near 58th Street in South Los Angeles.
The fatal hit-and-run traffic accident occurred in front of 5720 S. Figueroa Street at around 9:30 p.m. on April 11th, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Two people became trapped in a vehicle and paramedics from the LAFD responded to the crash scene. Firefighters used hydraulic tools to extricate the trapped victims, the report said.
A woman the vehicle died at the scene, but a 20-year-old man survived with major injuries and a 5-year-old boy who suffered moderate injuries. Both the man and the boy were transported to a hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, police are looking for the driver who struck the vehicle as they apparently fled the scene.
The fatal Figueroa Street accident remains under investigation.
