Deadly 2-Vehicle Collision at Caruthers Intersection
CARUTHERS, Calif. (March 28, 2024) — A driver allegedly ran a stop sign and T-boned a pickup truck Thursday in a fatal Caruthers crash at South Elm Avenue and E. Conejo Avenue.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 1:09 p.m. on March 28th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the driver of a green Pontiac reportedly drove through a stop sign and T-boned a driver in a white Ford pickup truck. Upon impact, the Pontiac driver was ejected from his vehicle into the roadway.
Paramedics responded to the Caruthers intersection and pronounced at least one person dead at the scene. A dog from one of the vehicles also died.
At least one person from the pickup truck was treated for minor injuries.
Meanwhile, PG & E was also called to handle a downed power pole and lines from the collision.
Investigators are working on the case and asking witnesses to contact them.
