Pedestrian Struck and Killed on 91 Freeway in Compton
COMPTON, Calif. (Aug. 8, 2022) – A fatal Compton pedestrian accident happened Monday morning on the Gardena (91) Freeway near Central Avenue.
The deadly, crash occurred about 12:16 a.m. on August 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A driver reportedly hit the person in the westbound lanes of the freeway at Central Avenue, officials said.
Paramedics responded to the scene, but unfortunately, the pedestrian died before they could transport them to a hospital.
It’s unknown at this time why the person was on the freeway.
Meanwhile, the driver involved reportedly stopped and is cooperating with authorities.
Police issued a SigAlert for all westbound lanes, but the two left lanes reopened about 1 a.m., the CHP report said.
