Deadly Crash at East Los Angeles Intersection
EAST LOS ANGELES, Calif. (April 23, 2024) — A fatal two-vehicle crash happened Sunday night at East 3rd Street and South Mednik Avenue in East Los Angeles.
The deadly crash occurred at around 6:23 P.M. on April 21st, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a white Honda CR-V, a Metro bus and a blue Nissan sedan were involved in the collision.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to help those injured in the crash and unfortunately at least one person died.
The bus stop was knocked over during the collision by the blue Nissan, the report said. It’s unknown if the victim was at the bus stop or an occupant of one of the vehicles. The victim’s name, age and gender was not released.
Tow trucks removed two of the vehicles for evidence.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the fatal crash on 3rd Street. At this time, it’s unknown if speed, alcohol or drugs, or any traffic violations were factors.
