1 Dead, 1 Injured in Crash on I-10 Freeway Near the Cactus City Rest Area
CACTUS CITY, Calif. (March 31, 2021) — A fatal Cactus City crash happened Wednesday morning on the Interstate 10 Freeway near the rest area in Riverside County.
The rollover collision happened about 4:15 a.m. on March 31st just east of Coachella, according to the California Highway Patrol. The CHP did not say how many vehicles crashed.
Responding firefighters extricated a man who was trapped in a vehicle as it was on its side. Meanwhile, the person told authorities his wife had been in the vehicle with him and he did not know where she was after the crash.

Also, the man suffered moderate injuries. He was transported to the hospital in the area.
Meanwhile, the second person suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The CHP report stated there was major damage to a guardrail on the right shoulder of the roadway. Investigators will determine fault for the fatal Cactus City crash.
