Woman, 61, Killed; Man Injured in Crash
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Feb. 22, 2024) — One woman is dead and a man was hospitalized after a two-vehicle fatal crash Wednesday morning on Highway 14 at the Highway 58 off ramp in the Mojave area.
A 61-year-old Ridgecrest woman died and her 63-year-old male passenger was injured in the crash at around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21st, according to Bakersfield Now and the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the woman and her passenger were traveling in a 2015 Chrysler northbound on Highway 14. At the same time, an 80-year-old Angwin woman was driving a westbound 2005 Chevrolet 3500 pickup truck on the Highway 58 off-ramp to Highway 14.
2-Vehicle Fatal Crash on Highway 14
The two vehicles collided due to unknown circumstances and the 61-year-old Ridgecrest woman died following the crash.
Also, the 63-year-old man traveling in the Chrysler suffered injuries and was transported by ambulance to Antelope Valley Hospital.
Furthermore, traffic investigators are working to determine fault for the fatal crash on Highway 14, but do not suspect alcohol and or drugs were a factor.
