Fatal Accident leaves One Dead, and One Injured, Interstate 215
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (May 8, 2024) — A fatal multi-vehicle crash occurred on Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 215 in San Bernardino.
The traffic accident occurred at around 1:24 in the afternoon on May 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol and CBS News.
A Nissan Versa for reasons unknown, unexpectedly stopped in the middle of the highway and as a result was hit from behind by a Freightliner Box Truck. Due to the impact, the Nissan ran straight into the guardrail and the Freightliner Box Truck overturned. This accident resulted in the blockage of the two right lanes along with the slow lane on the highway as well.
Paramedics arrived on scene of the crash and pronounced the driver of the Nissan Versa, an unidentified female to be dead. It was also reported that another female was involved in the collision and had major injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the fatal crash on Interstate 215 in San Bernardino.
