1 Dead, 1 Injured in Solo Crash on Maricopa Highway 33
VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (Oct. 13, 2022) — A fatal crash on Maricopa Highway (Highway 33) happened Wednesday afternoon, just north of Ojai in Ventra County.
The solo-vehicle crash occurred about 4:12 p.m. on Oct. 12th, according to the Ventura County Star.
There was at least one person who died at the scene, but a second person survived with severe injuries from the collision, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The vehicle crashed on a winding part of the highway in a remote area that is located north of Wheeler Springs that travels through the Los Padres National Forest.
Paramedics airlifted the injured person by helicopter to Ventura County Medical Center.
Investigators continue to work on the case to determine fault for the crash on Highway 33.
