San Mateo County, Calif. (Dec. 30, 2022) — A fatal crash occurred Thursday night on State Route Highway 35, also known as Skyline Boulevard, near Alpine Road.
The deadly crash occurred about 11:15 p.m. on Dec. 29th in unincorporated San Mateo County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a tan Toyota Highlander SUV and a silver Honda Accord collided on Highway 35, causing the SUV to veer off the roadway. The Toyota went roughly 25 feet down the embankment.
At least one person suffered major injuries and sadly died at the scene of the crash. Meanwhile, another person suffered moderate injuries and paramedics transported them to Stanford Medical Center for treatment.
Police issued a SigAlert for the collision due to all traffic lanes being blocked by the collision.
